Formerly @SDCMoodle. Owner of a #moooodlecow! I enjoy developing Moodle. 7 years in the public sector, currently for Coach in a Box. Views are my own. Probably.
Getting increasingly done with this. It's been a good run but the ride is getting wilder and wilder with no end in sight. Find me on BlueSky @vaughany.bsky.social
Help! I swear I saw someone offering a course for $99 here on Twitter, on SQL or programming, or testing, or Go (Golang) or *something* technical I liked the look of. Thought I bookmarked it but I didn't. Can anyone help? Must have been about a week ago I saw it. Thanks!!
Sadly I haven't had much to do with Moodle over the last few years (job took me into devops and away from development), but I'm genuinely glad it is going from strength to strength. โค๏ธ
I've seen a lot of people asking "why does everyone think Twitter is doomed?"
As an SRE and sysadmin with 10+ years of industry experience, I wanted to write up a few scenarios that are real threats to the integrity of the bird site over the coming weeks.
As an AWS user, I often want to know the cheapest options for compute resources given some project-specific criteria.
So, I made a tool to show me that data in a way that is useful to me. Maybe it will be useful to you, too: https://t.co/QjyE71WxR6
Staycation = at home, day trips.
Holiday in UK = Holiday
The idea it's not a holiday unless it's abroad is just snobby nonsense.
This is my hill and I will die on it.
@13sarahmurphy@Haggis_UK And 'teachers have done a brilliant job'
Yeah - we know. They've done what they can, but DESPITE the government - and they're getting burned out
@lakelandlangs @Haggis_UK @EHijacked Everything about governance in U.K. has been hostile since 2010.
Hostility against #Disabled
Hostility against working class
Hostility against EU and EU citizens
Hostility against NHS
Hostility against Human Rights
Hostility towards State Education

Though, to be fair, thanks to Moodle I have a love for storing dates/times as Unix epoch, although I am glad that UnixMilli and UnixMicro are generally now a thing.
Today is my 33rd birthday, so I want to share 33 hot tips about being a software developer:
1: Try to have fun
2-33: Store your data as UTC
Until next year! ๐
I just completed "Transparent Origami" - Day 13 - Advent of Code 2021 https://t.co/hHMZ8Mbxev #AdventOfCode
Turns out, transparent paper can be folded more than 10 times...
