Some results from track meet today! Girls: Maddie Moody places 1st in 3200 and 1600. Mollie places 1st in 800 and 2nd in 1600. Macy Caldwell places 3rd in 1600.
I don't recognize the adjective "slow" when it comes to running. All runners I know are fast, no matter at what speed they run. If you worry about being perceived as a slowpoke, simply compare yourself to those potatoes, who never get off their couches.
Anderson County's Maddy Moody had a great close to her 2017 XC season with a 3rd place state meet finish and a PR of 18:27 for 32nd place in the Foot Locker South Regional seeded race. She is hoping for an even better finish to her high school career. https://t.co/gvWmKK8uqI
@STrailrunner I agree! I have never had any negative experience with other runners, and only one w/a mtb'er. The vast majority of people that bother to get more than a mile or 2 from a parking lot, IMO, are not the ones that are going to make unwelcome comments.
I'm somewhat surprised that some of these numbers are as low as they are (and don't ask me about roads, 1/2 mile on road this morning, and still got a comment) but I consider trails my safe place and encourage women to get out and enjoy! Be aware, not scared. https://t.co/dhsphj2uDs
ICYMI: We published an important and comprehensive results article from the trail-safety survey we conducted last fall. Trail running community members will want to read this: https://t.co/7NfY8oMp9c #iRanFar
In a finish in the 1600 that had 2 falls (one by Maddie) in top 5 positions within 10 meters of finish and needed video review, my girl stayed tough and got 4th, a trip to State, and a new school record in 5:09. (Also qualified in the 3200)
