@KirkHerbstreit Our kids are required to play both until 13U. Then the legion only kids form the Pony league. Travel kids go full-time travel for the last two seasons before high school. Leagues should run it that way. It’s the best of both worlds.
@DJAGG1 Not on our travel team. You tryout to make the team. You PAY for the tournaments, practice time, and uniforms. You earn playing time. That is made clear to every kid and parent before they set foot on the tryout field.
@BradleyGloves 💯 They must be challenged for them to ever reach their potential. Or to get anything out of this beautiful game. Real coaches recognize this aspect.
@Wendi_Irlbeck I’ve seen it firsthand. I’ve developed such an environment. Seen them develop into confident respectful people. It’s not the sport or programs. It’s the people exploiting it. The kids who are developed properly recognize those people, which is another life lesson taught.
@Wendi_Irlbeck They should participate in lots of tournaments and travel ball. What they need is a patient and supportive parent base along with dedicated coaching. Who teach fundamentals, arm care, and team work. Those hard work lessons become habit which spill over into school and life.
@KnuppelRodney The announcers are worse for football. It ruins the dream of a lifetime. The kids re-watch the title games and hear mixed up names, wrong first names, they know nothing of the schools season or conference. Or they don’t call the kids name at all during a play. Ruins it.
