@decider@netflix Christina P. making transphobic comments following Jaye McBride’s set (easily the funniest comedian of the night) was just disgusting. Even when she wasn’t being blatantly transphobic she still wasn’t funny. The rest were ok. Skip the special but definitely look up Jaye McBride.
@_Alexa_Bee I think of it similarly to texting while driving and hitting and killing someone. You had no intentions of hurting anyone, but because you didn’t think of the implications of your actions (or ignored them) real harm was done.
So, stop looking for oppression where there is none; you’re a woman, there are more pressing issues that are actually infringing on your rights. Your obsession with peoples genitals is creepy and stop piggybacking off black trauma when you won’t even tweet out a #BLM do better. 9
You are not being oppressed you are not being humiliated (well questionable) No you’re angry and jealous that a trans woman or drag queen maybe perceived as more beautiful than you. They will be, because many are. Work on acceptance and there’s always fillers. (8)
You will never have an experience similar to the experience black people have. To this day they are still pushing back against the stereotypes that blackface and other offensive caricatures have engrained into western culture. Once again: YOU WILL NEVER HAVE THIS EXPERIENCE! (7)
But the fact of the matter is very simple; trans women, non-binary folx, drag queens, cis men, and trans men all have a much right to make up or no make up as you do. Their freedom of expression is only insulting if you believe that they are less deserving of humanity. (6)
Look I get it; it’s hard when nothing’s hard and you face no oppression. Especially when all the people you’ve been oppressing for your entire lifetime won’t take your shit anymore and how are you supposed to get that extra height without anyone under your heel? (5)
Do I really need to explain to you that feeling that you are entitled to a monopoly of beauty products because you we born with your mediocre vagina isn’t the same as being demeaned and humiliated without anyway to say “that’s bullshit, we are not like that!”? (4)
Black people didn’t have that opportunity. They weren’t able to publicly push back against the practice of black face. To express any displeasure or outrage was a likely death sentence. They also weren’t allowed to perform (or watch) or participate in their narrative at all. (3)
Let’s assume you are correct (you absolutely aren’t, big wrong) in saying anyone who isn’t a cis woman that uses makeup is doing this to make a caricature of the vagina-born and is insulting cis women. You still get to wear makeup and present yourself as a “real woman” gag🤢 (2)
Oh my terfs we’ve got a dumb one. So comparing people of any gender using makeup to express themselves, to the public and systematic humiliation of black people through black face is obviously and egregiously racist and transphobic.
Pushkin Square, maybe less than 1000 meters from Red Square and the Kremlin, is the cite of a significant protest. These people know the risks of challenging the regime. They’re on the street in-spite of major personal costs.
Global pandemic
Economic downturn
Rise in far right and strong man politics
Invasions of neighbouring states and annexation.
Targeting minorities.
Tell me again how this isnt the same situation?
Looks like a dog, barks like a dog probably a dog.
