the whole ep has constantly been prepping us for the big confession from chan

1. getting bothered that key was upset with her and wanting to make it up to her
2. chan accepting key’s back hug and putting her hands over key’s
3. continuously checking if key is still sulking at her
4. letting key sleep on her bed and looking for her when she wakes up
5. overreacting over the knife cut
6. not rejecting or icing out key after she asks about the possibility of her falling for chan - (holds key’s hands and smiles instead)
7. not annoyed that key leaves her guitar anywhere in her house, notices the moon key(chain) and plays with key’s guitar
8. immediately smiles, gets up, and calls for key when she hears the door
9. running for key after the kiss with jay

ofc, we would have appreciated a more gradual build up and more scenes of them getting to know each other beyond the bed but at least it wasn’t a surprise that this was coming

i know people can interpret series differently but please u cannot tell me chan's sudden admission of love came from no where and that she's an underdeveloped/plain character.

even tho chan and key have technically only kissed 2-3 times, chan obviously felt something in those few moments and other somewhat intimate situations which led to the no kissing rule. chan pulled away from key a lot cause she was terrified of being hurt/abandoned again and didn't want to risk falling in love again but it was already too late and she had fallen for key but was too scared to admit it. yes she still has ways to go before she's fully open with her feelings but the entire 5th ep was setting up for chan's realization showing small moments of worry and how she cares what key thinks. the moment she saw key walk out that door with the possibility of never seeing her again chan knew what she felt for key was love despite telling jay minutes ago she had no love to give cause in those moments even chan believed that until she almost lost something she deeply cared abt.

also in terms of her development clearly there is more to chan's coldness than just an ex that abandoned her and won't leave her alone and based on the preview i have a strong feeling it has something to do with her mom. there is a clear difference between how chan was with key in ep 1 compared to ep 5 so u can't tell me she has had little to no development.
