Celebrating 30 years of women priests! Giving thanks for my mother who led the way, ordained in 2000. And many other brilliant and fearless women of God who have journeyed with me. Growing up in the 90s with female priests & Spice Girls made me feel girls could do anything.
Today we celebrate the 30th anniversary of women's ordination to the priesthood.
On 12 March 1994, the first 32 women to become priests in the Church of England were ordained at Bristol Cathedral.
Join us in giving thanks for women priests and their ministry.
A joy to see 12 candidates from the Sherborne Deanery confirmed this morning (10 from the Abbey who we have been preparing for the last few weeks.) And a privilege to serve as deacon and step in as Bishops Chaplain. Exhausted but elated! @SherborneAbbey@DioSalisbury@bishopsarum
Tonight over 150 female clergy will gather to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the ordination of women priests in the Church of England. It's been a privilege to play a small part in the arrangements and to serve in @dioceseoflondon with the leadership of @bishopSarahM
Yay! First time I can participate in this! 4 services today, and midnight mass was just sublime. We’ve had more than 2,000 people through Sherborne Abbey today and it’s been tiring but glorious #clergymaltclub
Saturday 28th October is Sherborne Abbey's Day of Prayer and Gifts. All are welcome to join us in the Abbey from 10.30am to 3.00pm

@Jefner Great question! Not an answer but I’ve been discussing this with Cullin- ‘Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.’
Downloaded You Tube music, and laughing at the first suggestions of what it thinks my music is- Black Parade, My Chemical Romance, Shine Jesus Shine (live) and a cast recording of Ru Paul’s drag race 😂
@priestwendy I love your tattoos! They’re beautiful 🤩 great to see a woman taking on such an important role, crafting worship in an amazing place, I’m a liturgy nerd myself. Praying for you 🙏🏻
