एक तरफ हमारी सरकार ने 3 लाख भर्ती निकालने का ऐतिहासिक कार्य किया जो शायद देश में सर्वाधिक है और दूसरी तरफ पेपर लीक की कुछ घटनाएं सामने आईं (अधिकांश राज्यों में ऐसी ही स्थिति बनी हुई है, आर्मी और ज्यूडिशियरी तक में पेपर लीक हो गए)। ये सोचकर सरकार ने प्रयास किया कि आर्मी बैकग्राउंड के अधिकारियों को राजस्थान लोक सेवा आयोग (RPSC) एवं राजस्थान अधीनस्थ सेवा बोर्ड (RSSB) जैसी संस्थाओं में स्थान दिया जाए जिससे इन संस्थाओं की विश्वसनीयता कायम रहे।

हाल ही में सरकार ने RSSB के अध्यक्ष के रूप में मेजर जनरल आलोक राज एवं RPSC में सदस्य के रूप में कर्नल केसरी सिंह की नियुक्ति की सिफारिश की थी। इन दोनों ने ना तो अप्लाई किया और ना ही इनकी कोई सिफारिश आई। इनकी 37 साल और 20 साल की सैन्य सेवाओं को देखते हुए इनको नियुक्त किया गया।

किसी भी सेना में रहे व्यक्ति से जाति, धर्म, वर्ग इत्यादि से ऊपर उठकर देशसेवा की उम्मीद की जाती है। सैनिक देश की सीमाओं की रक्षा के लिए अपनी जान तक न्यौछावर कर देते हैं इसलिए उनका समाज में सम्मान होता है। कर्नल केसरी सिंह की नियुक्ति के बाद सोशल मीडिया पर उनके कुछ बयान वायरल हुए हैं जो जाति विशेष और व्यक्ति विशेष को लेकर दिए गए हैं जो निंदनीय, पीड़ादायक एवं दुर्भाग्यपूर्ण हैं। उनकी टिप्पणियों से मुझे भी बेहद दुख पहुंचा है। हमारी सरकार ने उनके सैन्य बैकग्राउंड को देखते हुए उनकी नियुक्ति की सिफारिश की थी।
