@PsyduckCo Panders not the word because she’s doing the opposite of what black Americans want lol. It’s more like she just jacking shi not apart of her culture and it comes off weird and parasocial bc she so far removed from the culture
@grapefruitism Lmao baby yall wouldn’t know what intersectionality was if it wasn’t for Black Americans. I wish yall would open up a book it’s sick atp
So does everyone around the world who wants to do music actually just want to be like Black Americans?? That seems to be the consensus to foreigners trying to “make it”
@blkwmnonly123@yoonimig Thanks boo. Racism is a real mental disorder. They literally can’t see reality. It’s just jarring to see them actually try any and every route and it goes nowhere every time bc their foundation is wrong. Every “point” crumbles easily.
@yoonimig You can’t say “apply that same logic” and then say you’re not trying to say they’re equal. You keep losing the plot. Honestly you’ve failed to prove your viewpoint and I’m not gonna earnestly reply just for it to made clear that you actually are just purposefully being slow.
@yoonimig The other can be changed, through naturalization or marriage. You can hide it. You can blend into. You can refuse to disclose it. Do you see the difference? White girls everywhere have representation and nationality doesn’t excuse cultural appropriation from the oppressed.
@yoonimig Girl…I feel like this is truly based on you being white European. You don’t interact with concepts like this and it isn’t taught over there. Race and nationality could never be equal. One is immediate. You cant lie about it, you can’t change it. It’s the first thing you see -
@yoonimig No because most are unaware of that fact to use it like that plus pop has gone through such significant changes (plus whitewashing) that it is hard to even unintentionally do. But Adela sure did blatantly because she wanted to be Bangerz-esque and that was appropriation.
@pianavyshnya You really think people know the name of every country? Non Americans don’t even know not to mix regional Ebonics where they appropriate and there’s way less states in America than countries in the world
@yoonimig Gather some more. Please. This is why it’s weird for black Americans when the world thinks they know but they truly don’t so they argue with assumption. The Pop genre is created by black Americans. Literally birthed out of jazz.
@yoonimig You are going every which way but forward. Wow. Okay so this doesn’t correlate the way you think. In your example black = black representation ok 👌🏽 then white = white representation right?? 😃 so white girls are represented everywhere tf
@yoonimig So your answer is her showcasing none of her culture? Am I getting you right? So instead of going into her own culture and actually being in it for the music, she’s going into other cultures, oppressed cultures, and taking what she wants so she can chart in those ppls country?
@yoonimig Girl appropriation not aside, black Americans have their own history in classical music. We literally created jazz, blues, ect out of classical music. Plus it’s apart of our culture as we were made to learn and perform it during slavery 😭
@yoonimig ..yes it does? You can’t represent something you’re appropriating..it just turns into appropriation entirely. What from her culture is she showing? That is what you cannot answer. And that is the heart of it all. Your representation should be accurate ❤️
@slowtownpoke@viscathebarca Let’s not rewrite history. She did not in fact say all that. She was given a question on what she identifies as then looked at her white management for them to step in. Nothing wrong with that but don’t act surprised when it’s still a topic…because we don’t know her.
@yoonimig Girl…if you list five Slovak things she incorporated into her ain’t in la mv I’ll list five back and probably discredit your three of your five. Because let’s not be purposefully daft.
