JUST LAUNCHED! We’re calling on Keir Starmer to reinstate our NHS as a fully public service.
The Labour Party created the NHS to work for patients, not profits. @Keir_Starmer must stand up for what the NHS was meant to be.

Poor, poor River Cam. 1 of most disappointing swims we've had & our 1st in UK for 8 weeks. Should've been divine on this gorgeous summer evening, snorkelling 500m up from Braseley Bridge to Byron's Pool, water 17.4°C (air 23.8). But shockingly, visibility almost nil. #MySwim🧵1/5
Palantir, a US ‘spy-tech’ company whose chairman has said that the NHS “makes people sick”, is in line for a contract to handle and process NHS patient data.
We think everyone should be able to keep their data safe.

Whilst UK media fixates 24/7 on small boats international Human Rights Watch says the UK could soon make the list of countries that abuse rather than protect human rights thanks to this governments outright onslaught on the rights of its own citizens - just think about that
#C4News on NHS treatment backlogs *in England*:
- In 2010, backlog = 2.5million
- In 2019 (before Covid) it'd risen to 5million
- In 2022 (when Rishi Sunak pledged to reduce it) it was 7million
- Now NHS are striking due to Govt refusal to negotiate, it's 7.5million
*Pay them!*
This is, I admit, a long thread. But it explains why the government is needlessly giving £18 billion or more a year to the biggest banks in the UK when it is claiming there is no money for essential services and pay rises. I also change. So that has to be worth a read......
£2.5m fund created by @DefraGovUK to plant trees for @ClarenceHouse, “could include creation of #orchards, #woodlands & #tree planting on farms.” Meanwhile @CambsCC vote to decimate 100 year old orchard, 14 #hedgerows, farm, woodlands & 100s of trees 🌳👑 https://t.co/yPpJ2Aerpm #SaveCotonOrchard 🖊 https://t.co/NnXtKipoIe

Increasing public sector pay will not push up inflation in any significant way. Sunak’s refusal to pay them what we know they are worth is just another political choice & now he’s shamelessly conning the public with a justification he knows has been rubbished by most economists
If ecological connectivity is lost, landscapes, river systems .. become fragmented, movement of #wildlife limited, .. natural systems start to breakdown. Driving a bus through Coton Orchard is the thin end of the wedge 🌳🪲 @KevinHand3#SaveCotonOrchard ✏️ https://t.co/gmVvYbHR0A
‘Why are houses in this country not being built with solar panels on as standard?’
The government could be achieving ‘lots of little wins right now, but isn’t’ asserts @Lewis_Goodall, noting environmental action is needed ‘now’.
