Mexico Cartels have begun extorting agricultural products in Mexico to harm America

“You know what nobody is talking about — we have Mexican truckers in Mexico are blocking produce from coming into the United States to protest cartel violence. Over the last few months, cartels have increased their extortion rates towards agriculturists in Mexico, and this is their way of fighting back.”

Mexican cartels particularly the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) and Sinaloa Carte have ramped up extortion on farmers and truckers in key agricultural states like Michoacán, Sinaloa, and Chihuahua.

Rates have surged up to 50% in some regions. This money is often enforced through threats, kidnappings, or crop burnings

Mexico supplies roughly 70% of US fresh fruit/veg imports. In response, truckers and farmers launched nationwide “mega-blockades” halting highways and border crossings, explicitly blocking produce trucks to protest violence and demand government action
