Sign our petition to the National Trust. Tell them not to replace the shooting tenant they're currently evicting from two moorland estates in the #PeakDistrict.
Looking forward to #birdfair at Rutland this year. How about a ban on plastic straws, helium filled balloon giveaways and other single use plastic at this year’s show? Or at least some kind of commitment to reduce their use during the show? @TheBirdfair
Looks like i too will become a member of NTS as they, unlike our @nationaltrust , do NOT allow trailhhunting/foxhunting on their land😀 https://t.co/WJXfftZQ3l
So, @nationaltrust has rejected Derbyshire Wildlife Trust's bid to help them manage our #PeakDistrict uplands without need for grouse shooting or raptor-killing. Read why @DerbysWildlife believes a "New Approach for our Uplands" is still needed. https://t.co/qePndPzftY @BBCDerby
"...taking of any eggs or chicks from an active English nest belonging to a species so close to being extirpated from England cannot be justified." https://t.co/pZVAsIh2sv

@saintdavid2911 @SimonHareBBC @MoorlandVision@nationaltrust We were thinking of joining NT this year - but not now.
There should be zero tolerance for criminal activity.
Campaigners from @MoorlandVision - who called on @PeakDistrictNT to stop grouse shooting on its Dark Peak estate - say the plans revealed yesterday (a mix of intensive GS, walked-up GS, GS with dogs and no shooting) are a "missed opportunity." https://t.co/JyBq17H4A1
I stand with @BirdLifeEurope in supporting @EU_ECHA's proposal to #BanLead ammunition for hunting in wetlands. Save 1 million birds! https://t.co/Jed8QYXcqn
Back home from Notth Pennines now, bivvi gear drying out, and realising stupidity of hastily tweeting a mate's picture at face value. Doh! So maybe it wasn't #RobsonGreen we saw in the Hartside Cafe this lunchtime, either! #twittercrime
@GethinJones123@DerbysWildlife@nationaltrust Simple. I'd suggest it's an over-emphasised red herring that you and others like to trot out whenever you're fearful that the status quo is changing against The key is in establishing an "ecological balance" which we don't have at present.
@GethinJones123@DerbysWildlife@nationaltrust You must ask them that. My advice was to include the option of a bare minimum no of days of w/u shooting if @NationalTrust absolutely, definitely insisted on it. Otherwise the aim would be to restore a naturally balanced #ecosystem on 8,000 ha -something you'd know little about.
Actually, @DerbysWildlife have put in a bid to manage these #PeakDistrict moors. We await to hear whether @NationalTrust accept it, or prefer to remain rooted in their 19th century attitudes of supporting #hunting, killing and shooting #wildlife on their estates. https://t.co/ac5jm5RcWk
