South Africa 🇿🇦 has overtaken Kenya 🇰🇪 as Africa’s most competitive economy in the latest IMD World Competitiveness Ranking 2026.

South Africa ranks 54th globally, one place ahead of Kenya in 55th.

The country moved up 10 positions, supported by stronger business efficiency, government efficiency, and infrastructure.

Only six African countries were included among the 70 ranked economies.
