Today's announcement on LNG Phase II is long-delayed good news. But this project got its permit a decade ago, because of the Harper government. Bad Liberal policies delayed its construction, which has still not begun.
Over the same period, the U.S. built, not announced but built, 9 LNG terminals. Germany built an LNG import terminal in 194 days.
Instead of taking credit for work done by others long ago, Carney should explain why it took him so long to do so little.
The solution is to pre-permit shovel-ready zones. Axe the industrial carbon tax. Get government out of the way and let Canadian workers build. Now: https://t.co/FKCwB2PnNC
Really? Because over the past 30 years, China's GHG emissions are up 240%. They're laughing at fools like you who sabotage your own industries, while they emit whatever they want.
Of course. Carney's Liberals are the party of high immigration levels, temporary foreign workers, weak borders, cultural fragmentation, and depressed wages. They are cosplaying as nationalists, and we should unapologetically call out their insincerity every chance we get.
💥Propaganda Maxxing: The CBC National calls Second Sons Canada's "Got Bones" taxpayer accountability demo "a display of white nationalism" because questioning government spending is now a hate crime.
Thank you to the member of the public who called 911 to report an erratic transport truck.
#CambridgeOPP officers located and stopped the truck.
The driver was arrested and charged with #ImpairedDriving after blowing almost 3 times the legal limit.
Vehicle seized, licence suspended ^ks
Dear Degenerate Parasite @BernieSanders, @elonmusk provides more benefits to more people in one hour of his life than you have done in your entire parasitic political career. You've only taken; he has given incalculable benefits to civilization.
Shabana Mahmood, the Pakistani Muslim Home Secretary of the UK, has announced that she will open a new refugee route specifically prioritizing Afghans and Palestinians.
This comes after five Muslim terrorists with explosives were arrested near RAF Fairford, a military base also used by American soldiers.
Shabana Mahmood, who previously stated that she puts Islam first in everything she does, oversees the UK’s borders, police, and immigration.
This will not end well.
Prime Minister Carney’s address to the European Parliament in Strasbourg rested on several foundational errors.
The claim that freedom was won “thanks to the heroism of the European resistance” is historically false. Western Europe was liberated by the armed forces of the United States, the United Kingdom and Canada. The subsequent emancipation of the Soviet empire was the product of the American strategy of containment. Canada’s role was particularly notable: a volunteer force from a country that had never been attacked or threatened by the Axis powers.
The European institutions have succeeded in reducing internal economic barriers and managing inter-state cooperation. As an economic administration, however, they have not been a success at all. In 2008 the GDP of Europe and the United States were roughly equal; the United States now stands at 140 percent of the EU’s. Much of this relative decline is attributable to the prolonged suppression of fossil fuels—an agenda Carney himself promoted for years.
Carney also omitted the decisive commercial reality: Canada sends roughly 70 percent of its exports to the United States (98% of which is unaffected by the recent tariffs) and only 6 percent to Europe. The United States accounts for half of the Canadian economy; Canada accounts for three percent of theirs. These proportions are not altered by elaborate metaphors about the transplantation of trees between Vimy and Milliken.
Until Canada recovers the relative prosperity it enjoyed with the United States a decade ago, there is little strategic sense in the prime minister travelling to the Rhine to deliver a wistful reflection on the failure of Canada and Europe to produce a superior political ethos while remaining economically competitive.
Disgusting. Two child-murdering pedophiles released from prison in Victoria, B.C.
Putting even more of our children at risk, and causing further grief to the families of those who were taken from us far too soon.
At MINIMUM, monsters like this should stay behind bars for life.
The Liberal government is risking our children by releasing child-killing pedophiles with passes to leave prison.
It is an insult to the victims and their families and a danger to all our kids when these child killers and rapists are on the loose.
Conservatives will keep you and your kids safe, by banning the release of child murderers. They will stay in maximum security prisons for life and come out in a box.
“Who is the economy working for?”
This article about Brookfield deserves serious attention. The company has extensive interests in Canada’s infrastructure, energy and real estate. Mark Carney formerly held a senior role there, and Canadians are entitled to more than vague assurances about how potential conflicts are being managed.
But are we missing the bigger picture by talking only about Carney’s personal conflict of interest?
Who owns and controls the infrastructure Canadians depend on? How is public money being used, who stands to benefit, and what does this mean for Canada’s long-term economic security?
Those questions deserve clear answers. Public trust depends on Canadians being able to see the decisions, the financial interests and the safeguards for themselves.
If public money is being used to support private investment, the government should be able to show exactly who benefits and why it serves the public interest. Asking those questions is basic accountability.
Read the article and make up your own mind.
Common sense is not that common.
Under strict interpretations of Islamic law, women can face forced dress codes, male control over marriage and family decisions, and harsh punishment for behavior that would be considered normal freedom in much of the world.
She went missing while riding her bike in front of her dad’s home. 10 years old.
And the man who sexually assaulted and murdered her is getting day passes to go free and take cooking classes.
The Liberal justice system is sick and immoral.
We must scrap Liberal laws. And lock up murderers in maximum security penitentiaries until they die.
Canada’s first F-35 flew Wednesday from Texas, the first new Canadian-marked fighter in 44 years. Ottawa said little.
That same day, Mark Carney told the NYT Canada prepared for U.S. military action.
Probably the stupidest day in Canadian politics in 44 years.
Bans on Canadian alcohol, motorcycles and other goods take effect Tuesday.
Thousands of jobs are on the line.
Why isn't Mark Carney trying to get a deal in Washington to save these jobs?
