I hear about folks leaving DSA to join these little small sects and front groups and I don’t begrudge anybody their choices but it’s still dumb. Leaving the largest socialist organization in American history to join some dogshit sect that won’t exist in a year and a half for what? You want a pure line, guess what, there ain’t one. You gotta struggle and be with the masses. None of these little groups is going to organize or lead any revolution. They didn’t in 1969, they aren’t in 2026. Where’s the mass base? You’re going to end up fighting each other over stupid shit, then you will split, or wither into irrelevance. Sects always split, or end up like the sad old mfs from the RCP.

It’s like those rich white kids that dropped out of college in the ‘60s and ran off to Nepal and India or San Francisco to find themselves and look for purity and ended up in People’s Temple or the Rajneeshees. Individualist decisions and thinking you’re smarter than everybody else bites you in the ass. You wanna sell newspapers and write polemics that nobody gives a fuck about, that’s your choice. You’ll be back when you’re ready for the real work.
