It’s deplorable to hear of the direct shooting and violence on the peaceful demonstrations in Pakistan, killing at least 15 civilians.
The Australian government needs to take action like the US Congress and impose visa bans and asset freezes on General Asim Munir and others involved in corruption and human rights abuses.
@elonmusk I have lot of respect for you and can send spaceships to all over universe. However I challenge you that you would not be able to interview @ImranKhanPTI@PTIofficial . @MoeedNj
@BradSherman thanks for your tough questions today on hearing. All of the Pakistani American were hoping for free and fair election, but they were not. We as an American understands the value of election & voting. We believe that right was taken away from Pakistanis. @MoeedNj
Thank you @MoeedNj for leading the cause. One man can make a difference. Thank you and you deserve recognition @PTIofficial@ImranKhanPTI Pakistan Zindabad.
We are not against Pakistani Army/judiciary. We are against individuals who are maligning these institutes for personal gains. @MoeedNj thank you for leading the cause. @PTIofficial@SenateGOP@GregCasar we want is to give mandate to the winners based on Form45.Pakistan Zindabad
I remember how US was up an arms during Trump and Hillary’s election & blamed Russia’s meddling. Pakistan have evidence; form 45, but we don’t hear anything from WhiteHouse. Pakistani believe that US is involved, otherwise they’ld have said something. If not then say something
Hon. Congressmen, I have written this detailed note in the hope that you will be able to dig and dissect through the sophistry of Mr. Donald Lu, whose misleading testimony on Pakistani Elections of Feb 2024, hides the tragic fact that in the last 24 months, while Mr. Lou headed Central & South Asian Affairs, Pakistan (5th largest Nation state, 2nd largest Muslim Nation & the only Muslim Nuclear power) descended into a kind of chaos in which this nation of 240 million, with 65% under 35 years of age has lost all democratic, constitutional and civic progress that it had achieved, in gradual baby steps, (two steps forward one backward) over the past 50 years of its political journey as it emerged from Gen. Zia’s martial law of 1979, under which a democratically elected PM was hanged & society brutalised.
While Mr. Donald Lu, can’t be held responsible for the tragic implosion and human regression of Pakistan, US Congress needs to examine what steps State Dept took under his watch to react and stop these tragic developments? And if State Department didn’t do anything apart from usual useless optics then what’s the reason?
Mr. Lu, in his testimony, admits that U.S. is Pakistan’s biggest export destination, add to this that Pakistan continuously needs IMF bail outs, and budgetary supports from World Bank & Asian Development Bank, its strongest diaspora is in the US and looks towards the US for help in multiple ways, US definitely has huge leverage; why this leverage has not been used over the past 24 months?
Even at this late stage, a mechanism of sustained engagement, through Congress, can help Pakistan, democracy and can bail out its military from the growing chaos that will become unmanageable if not checked!
