Last night there was a part of my dream where I was watching a play at camp or something, and John Mulaney was sitting next to me, just giving little supportive pats and hand squeezes. It's nice to know we have that kind of friendship.
Also another thought- the Maccabees couldn't even celebrate Sukkot in the fall. So they did it later. And we got Hanukkah out of that, so that's pretty great... :)
Just a reminder- Jewish holidays happen every year. It's remarkable, really. Chagim have happened in war, in famine, in exile, in depression, and they kept happening. Resilience and ingenuity at work. Let them be different! Let the chagim be what we need in this moment.
