@Grouse_Beater I’ve been lucky enough to kayak through the arches into that tidal pond, and the surrounding area is every bit as beautiful as it looks👍
@rothiemoon Great results. looks a great piece of kit to own. Not something I’ve come across. Can think of so many applications on my own patch, or when visiting different areas of Scotland.
@tutty352 Did you peek inside the grave with railings around it? A tacksman named McColl was cursed for evicting a bedridden woman, ‘no grass will grow on your grave, only dockens and nettles would sprout there’ 😉 worth a look!
@is_glasgow father’s family lived, and worked in the mines at Bothwellhaugh, before moving to Inchinnan to work in the ‘modern’ India Tyres. Social and family history can be so interesting…
The Bennie Railplane was a form of rail transport invented in Scotland by George Bennie that moved along an overhead rail using propellers. The prototype was completed in 1929 and believed to be capable of speeds up to 193kmh. However, lack of financial backing ended the project.
@CarlBovisNature@tutty352 Currently lucky enough to have around 6 that visit - Purchased a ‘Finches Friend’ feeder a while back, not cheap, but in my opinion very well worth it. Now have Siskin, goldfinch, nuthatch, chaffinch, it’s a magnet when filled with sunflower hearts. 👍
