As a medical doctor working in a government hospital, if you ask me to work as a nurse for just one week, I might either run mad or leave the profession entirely 😭😂 The constant questions, endless complaints, and the sheer lack of appreciation? Wallahi, I don't think I have the patience for it.

And the audacity of some patients reporting their nurses to doctors will forever baffle me 😅🤌🏽. Omo, you're reporting the person you see 24/7, the person who attends to you and administers your medications, to someone you only see when you called or during ward rounds? 😭😂

Nurses deserve their flowers, honestly. The amount of patience and emotional energy that job demands is not for the faint-hearted!

Tonight, we remember those sending applications into silence, attending interviews that lead nowhere, facing rejection after rejection, and watching others move ahead while they feel stuck.

Ya Allah, You know what we cannot see. You know the doors we have knocked on, the opportunities we have prayed for, and the battles we have fought quietly.

You found Yusuf (AS) in the darkness of the prison and raised him to a position of honour. You opened doors for Musa (AS) when the path ahead seemed uncertain. You gave Maryam (AS) provision from where she could not have imagined.

Ya Allah, see us tonight.

Open the right doors for us, not merely any door. Grant us opportunities that are good for our Dunya and our Ākhirah. Give us the wisdom, preparation and patience we need while we wait.

Do not let rejection break our confidence. Do not let delay make us believe that You have forgotten us. Protect our hearts from despair and strengthen our tawakkul.

Ya Allah, provide us with halal rizq, meaningful work, beneficial opportunities and success that brings us closer to You.

Where there is a closed door, open a better one. Where there is delay, grant us sabr. Where there is uncertainty, grant us clarity. And where we have been overlooked by people, remind us that You never overlook us.

Ya Fattāḥ, open for us the doors we cannot open ourselves.
Ya Razzāq, provide for us from sources we could never imagine.
Ya Mujīb, answer the sincere prayers we have been carrying in our hearts.

While the world sleeps, Ya Allah, arrange what we cannot arrange for ourselves.

May tomorrow bring news that makes us say:
“This could only have been from Allah.”
