At a time when discussion around Final Fantasy is saturated with criticism, expressing disappointment, or simply pushing negativity, I decide to look back on why modern FF for the past 10 years still gets it.

I mean, for this type of setting I always prefer theatre actors for the immersion. But tbh? I have no problem with the voice acting here in Resonance. Just off the demo I think all of the actors in their roles have been top quality and I really find their performances charming.
Final Fantasy Resonance has…fucking hell man these voices. They can’t be serious with that main character voice. I’m actually at a loss of words, might have to play this one with zero voice acting
Dear game studios PLEASE just hire theater actors cause wtf are we doing man 😭🤦🏻♂️
@Eikonic16 They have been doing good on their dub casting and VA direction in LA, especially with the remake trilogy. That said, I do think FFXVI really set a high and new standard for what voice acting could be within the franchise moving forward.
@arsenicknife I’m familiar with him and the nature of his content. But yeah, the performances are good here and his hate for it is exaggerated, no doubt.
@sheldonlv30@NightSkyKing_ When it comes to FFXIV, really FF in general, story is a very integral aspect. That said, the content in Dawntrail is pretty awesome despite the mostly disappointing MSQ.
@keddage Same can be said in how audiences aren’t always “right” in how they may view something. It’s why the existence of both sides is extremely important.
@keddage It’s true that critics and audiences view games from very different lenses and yet to discredit them all under the umbrella of “paid shills” or being entirely obsolete would be vastly ignorant.
