I was nervous about what my second companion would be like after my trainer was called to another city. I showed him around and then took too him to a few investigators. Once we got home, he pulled me close and threw me on the bed. Then he showed me a few things.
My senior companion seemed really stressed about being a senior for the first time. It took some convincing, but he eventually let me help him relax. Now he lets me help him multiple times a day. I hope he'll let me try it at our next investigator's house, too!
After several months into my mission, I finally got a missionary of my own to train. And even better for him, our district has a tradition where we all work together to show him the ropes in his first meeting. He needs to know we're all here to help carry one another's load.
It was my first time being a senior companion. I was nervous, but it was my responsibility to guide him, even though he was close to my age. All I can do is my best and help my new junior and hope it inspires him when it's his turn. At least he seems really receptive.
My companion always insists on coming home at noon for lunch because that's when all of our neighbors are gone, especially the nosy old lady who knows the bishop. We can get a lot more work in and prepare for later investigators without all of the usual distractions.
After being let in, our host went to go get us something to drink. I told my junior companion that it would be a good time to silently prepare for our discussion, so when the investigator came back, he would be ready to go.
My new companion is so enthusiastic about us going on splits with members. I thought it was supposed to be to help them get involved with missionary work, but we never go out. My companion says it's because we need to build up their trust before being introduced to their friends
I hated having my senior companion constantly tell me what to do, so I decided to rebel by being 15 minutes behind on getting up and our studies. I was surprised how firmly and powerfully he used his authority to correct me
I guess I'm waking up late tomorrow too!
We didn't get along at first. But now we get so excited for companionship study, because of how close it brings us together. I can only hope our investigators will feel the closeness of our bond and invite us in
