Greg Wier, author of More Than Just Luck, sits down with Janene, a survivor who shares her allegations about her years at Vista Maria—a place she describes as a “House of Horrors.”

Janene says it began with a childhood mistake: shoplifting approximately $20 worth of makeup. What followed, she says, was more than four years in the child welfare system, including time at Vista Maria, where she alleges she endured punishment, mistreatment, and traumatic experiences that would affect the course of her life.
