Every node has to receive the entire message before it can forward it.
The pattern repeats over and over:
Receive β Wait β Forward.
Every hop adds another delay.
The farther a block has to travel across the network, the more those delays stack on top of each other.
RLNC changes the rules.
Instead of waiting for a complete message, a node can begin contributing as soon as it has enough coded shards.
It doesn't need to decode the original block first.
It simply generates a new coded shard and immediately pushes useful information further into the network.
That means propagation and reconstruction happen at the same time, not one after the other.
Information keeps moving while the message is still being rebuilt.
The result is not just fewer duplicate transmissions.
It's a network that spends less time waiting.
Across a multi-hop network, those saved milliseconds compound into something much bigger: latency no longer grows the same way with every additional hop.
That's the real breakthrough behind mump2p.
