Most of the Canadian entrepreneurs I know are actively considering exiting Canada.
It’s probably worth considering why.
Before you throw stones and name call and scream about “tax the rich”, just think about what this means for the country.
If a lot of wealth leaves. Who’s going to have to make up the tax gap?
This topic is angering people for the wrong reasons.
What’s happening in Canada is only scary if you grew up here and learned world history before the woke era. Everyone else is properly uninformed or indoctrinated, so it’s not a problem for them.
Trying to excuse extorting its population that is fed up with its policies and wants to seek a better life elsewhere where they aren't crushed under the boot of government is a bad take. Canada benefited more while the person was residing in Canada by taxing almost 50% of their income. Taxing it further is the exact reason why people want to leave. Instead of enticing people to stay, they punish people for leaving, and then wonder why there is a "Brain Drain"
@KimGCMoody I'd say that most people who succeed in Canada and then leave succeeded DESPITE Canada's society, economy, and government, not BECAUSE of it.
Why else would they leave? Because Canada is a good place to succeed and continue succeeding? No. It's the opposite. It's difficult here.
@KimGCMoody They hardly benefitted from Canada if they’re so fed up that they’re leaving.
The taxes already paid, dying economy, soaring cost of living and collapsing services mean they probably paid in a lot more than they got out.
So yet another tax on the way out is ridiculous.
This whole exercise has been quite revealing in the Canadian psyche of envy and jealousy that permeates our society today. It is quite disturbing to take a 30,000’ view into how our society is devolving into pettiness and vindictiveness. Those cheering him to leave are losing sight of the fact that we should be encouraging more Gad Saads to sprout in this country if we are ever to increase our living standards for all. Doesn’t look good from where I’m standing.
@pitdesi Countries should not tax at all. There’s no reason for people to be taxed in the 21st century when we have crowdfunding.
There’s government should only be doing things the people support.
@DucateEd74573@canadarescue401 "He stood up against the United States" at the expense of Canadians. That part is important. Canadians did not pay a single cent extra on good because of US tariffs on Canadian good. We paid for Canadian tariffs on US goods. We can't afford to fight with the US like that.
As a proud Canadian, I’m deeply disappointed in the direction our country has taken. We’ve lost our way on freedom, affordability, and basic common sense. We’ve allowed a zealot and egomaniac take Canada down a dangerous path! Just sayin!!
I’m also Canadian, and for the life of me I can’t understand why so many, like yourself are obsessed with Trump while ignoring the mess at home. Housing crisis, strained healthcare, inflation, record temporary immigration overwhelming services, productivity issues, and young people leaving.
These are our problems under our own government. It’s wild.
When leaders resign it should trigger an election.
These parasitic worms just pick a new one, convince the population it was the old one that was the problem, and regroup.
It’s how we ended up with Mark Carney.
People have a right to privacy.
Politicians — on the other hand — don’t.
If we don’t get ‘time off’ from them and their laws, they don’t get ‘time off’ from us and our complaints.
The whole "man takes his daughters into female bathrooms" exposes how much misandry is involved.
"Dont take them into mens theres predatory men in there"
"Dont take them into womens or you're a predatory man"
Two sides, both claiming the father is the problem no matter what.
