Was watching the #ITVDebate last night - Sunak repeatedly claimed that Labour’s plans would add £2k to everyone’s tax bill - and even claimed it was independent research. It sounded like a lie and turns out it was. We see this tactic all the time (it’s a right wing classic) make up false claims, call them facts, pump out to a big audience, then eventually row back in front of a much smaller one. We need politicians held to higher standards.

I keep thinking about the terrified patient I supported whilst he sat with his Mum as she died. She had Covid but was 96 and refused hospital. His family couldn't travel to be with him.
I cried, he cried.
Who are these people? How did they get to be in charge?
#Partygate

This was an incredible production to be a part of with stellar cast & crew.

Indeed, 'baffled' is a great attribute! (Conversely, the omniscient viewpoint breaks the spell.) It's also satisfying when the reader realises something before the main character due to their flaws/temperament acting as a blind spot 🖊️ #amwriting
Jonathan Payne for @CrimeReads writes on the enjoyment of following a 'baffled' fictional protagonist. 'There’s something both comforting and thrilling about sitting on the shoulder of a fictional character who is bewildered about the world.' https://t.co/f4919IkjgJ
