Regardless of what the future holds, the years we’ve had with Daniel Ricciardo will always be remembered fondly. He touched so many lives, not just with his talent on the track, but with his infectious smile and sense of humor off it.

Daniel Ricciardo's mid-season dismissal from the VCarb (sister Red Bull) team has been a personal blow for me—perhaps the most painful moment of the year. He was the driver who got me hooked on Formula 1 in the first place, and I know he had the same impact on countless others.

And a one-of-a-kind personality in the paddock. I can only hope he gets the chance to return to F1 with a competitive team, and perhaps even secure one more win before he hangs up his helmet for good. But these are just the dreams of an F1 fan idolizing his hero, and not reality.
