@chrissyteigen I am a teacher in rural northeast Michigan. Our school just went completely virtual and I am teaching from home now!

When creating our online classes it's important to to make sure they are content rich and have rigor but I think empathy and grace must be at the forefront of our minds as we instruct. #ESZoom#Specials#643Su20wk3
It would be interesting to me to look more in depth and compare and contrast the approach China had in concerns to PE VS USA. What worked what didn't? #ArtMusicPe#Specials#643Su20wk3
@kovach_katelyn The entire school has 1 account. We post pictures and info to the app and it pushes it to Facebook, Twitter, and our live feed automatically.
In addition to text, email, robo calls etc our schools uses the thrillshare app to show parents what is happening in our classes. We are encouraged to post atleast 3 times a week. Does anyone else use thrillshare?#LMSschool2home#643Su20wk2#Specials
@PanoffMoCI I know! I use my prep too but things come up sometimes. I was wondering if anyone had specific time set aside daily for parent communication?
Great idea "proposed reallocating time from non-academic duties, such as hall duty or lunch duty, to provide teachers formal time to communicate with families during contracted hours"Does anyone have time set aside to contact parents daily? #643Su20wk2#Specials#LMSschool2home
@AmandaB06682167 I agree & feel frustrated by this. I wonder if we could some how survey parents to see how they want to communicate? Maybe school wide, then break down by grade/class? As a specials teacher I make a lot of calls that are very time consuming with all of the interactions I have.
@AmandaB06682167 I agree! Parents, teachers and support staff all need to be on the same page! Maybe we can talk to admin and get training for this fall?
@Elizabe88912681 I agree, I think parents also like tangible paper communication. As a PE teacher I try to send home MANY positive notes home to parents to communicate great things their child did and create a relationships.
@PanoffMoCI I did too however during the shut down I had to communicate with so many different families being a specials teacher. I had to use my personal phone, and I think parents valued being able to contact me directly. I found it to be a good way to communicate.
With many ways to communicate with parents do you think they disregard some information because they don't believe it's important? Maybe narrowing the scope of how communication takes place might help to improve communication?#LMSschool2home#Specials#643Su20wk2
I believe communication in terms of #StudentPrivacy is key. The more information parents have the more comfortable they will feel and in turn help to build a better student, parent, school educational experience/partnership. #Specials#643Su20wk2
