The brutality with which South Africa has dealt with other African immigrants is shameful. However, we cannot ignore the root causes; the failures of other African governments. One country, #SouthAfrica cannot carry the economic burden of an entire continent. I have bad news: the sun is setting on immigrants everywhere, particularly African ones—legal or illegal. Fix your country and live there to avoid the dangers and indignity we are seeing not just in SA, but Belfast.

You can’t neglect the politics of your country (a key foundation for economic and social development), to go and build or benefit from other people's political and economic systems.

Fix and stay in your country. Make your country great (again). It’s that simple.

The Department of Home Affairs has confirmed that the Nigerian family deported from Ireland earlier this year was taken into custody upon arrival at OR Tambo International Airport.
Responding to questions raised by ATM, the department stated that the family was transferred to Lindela Repatriation Centre before being deported to Nigeria.
Authorities allege that the family had entered Ireland using fraudulently obtained South African passports.
