@vanessarosaphd Interesting! I guess I’m inclined to think that MSIs have more programs in place to build community, which helps everyone do better there. Maybe those programs are identity-specific and therefore hard for folks who identify as “other” to benefit from?
Super excited that our paper got chosen for this award! A year later, I’m still incredibly proud of this work and the conclusions we were able to draw. If you haven’t had a chance, definitely go check it out!
We are delighted to announce the inaugural winners of the 2023 JACS Au Outstanding Paper Award!

@vanessarosaphd @TheCuvette Basically I want to be able to read it the way many of us read articles to begin with: by skimming and picking out important bits and then reading for the details I want as needed
@vanessarosaphd @TheCuvette For the main text, margins that are big enough to write in and titles/subtitles for sections that are visually distinct so I can scroll through and see the flow easily. Ooh, maybe an autogenerated outline with those sections at the beginning?
As a reviewer of many a broader impacts statement I often see great ideas that lack modern best practices for supporting vulnerable groups (like properly hosting summer students). YOU DON’T HAVE TO BE AN EXPERT- HIRE ONE! And this expert right👇🏽 is legit.
