On December 29, 2007, Richard Onyonka attended a meeting at The Pentagon in Lavington, Nairobi, where crucial strategic discussions took place as the country held its breath on Raila Odinga’s unassailable lead over Mwai Kibaki. Onyonka attended the meeting as a newly elected ODM MP.

After the meeting, Onyonka rushed out with his impressive Toyota Landcruiser.

Thirty minutes later, as some of us drove by the gates of @StateHouseKenya towards the KICC to continue pilling pressure on Samuel Kivuitu and the defunct ECK to announce the presidential results, we saw Onyonka’s Toyota Land Cruiser exiting the @StateHouseKenya. He sheepishly smiled at us, as we cursed him for such treacherous behaviour.

Nineteen years later, I do not and cannot trust Richard Onyonka. The same way I have never trusted Kivutha Kibwana.
