I’m trying to understand the left’s argument supporting Karmelo Anthony.
Karmelo followed Austin Metcalf into the Memorial high school tent. In high school athletics, this is a provocation.
15 times, Karmelo was asked to leave the tent. He didn’t.
He then challenged Austin Metcalf to touch him and “find out.”
Someone pushed Karmelo. Per video, maybe two minor pushes.
Witnesses testify Austin Metcalf did NOT punch Karmelo or do anything that would cause serious bodily harm.
So Karmelo had no reasonable belief—the standard for self-defense—that his life was in danger.
Nonetheless, Karmelo immediately grabs a knife from his bag —which he was carrying illegally, no knives allowed on school property— and stabs Austin Metcalf in the heart, killing him.
Karmelo then throws the knife and runs away.
Moments later, after police arrest him and refer to him as the “alleged” suspect, Karmelo admits he killed Metcalf, saying: “I’m not alleged, I did it.”
So—
The jury was NOT “all white.” There were Asians, Hispanics & Arabs reportedly on the jury.
Karmelo’s lawyer wasn’t a public defender, he was a private attorney.
The left claims “racism!”
But facts matter.
There is ZERO evidence of racism.
And all the facts demonstrate beyond the shadow of a doubt that Karmelo Anthony murdered Austin Metcalf.
If you think Karmelo should walk free, YOU are the racist because you’re basing that on his skin color alone while ignoring the reality of the crime he committed.
Between Rufai Oseni and APC Chieftain Farouk over failed Tinubu promises
Farouk: Tinubu Made Election Promises on Certain Assumptions, But Getting in Office, You Are Faced With the Truth. When you are in opposition, there are certain promises you make, and by the time you get into office, you will see that certain promises cannot be fulfilled”
Rufai: So why did you deceive the masses with a promise when you’ve not done your study before making the promises?
Farouk:
Despite Three Years of Tinubu's Food Emergency, Nigeria hungriest ranking index declined to among the worst nations globally.
In celebrating his supposed successful three years in office, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu listed some achievements in the agricultural sector, firstly, his declaration of emergency on food security in July 2023, followed by the acquisition of 2,000 tractors and 9,000 farming implements, stated as Nigeria's largest agricultural mechanisation programme.
Yet the outcome of this has been the opposite. Nigeria's hunger index has worsened significantly. Nigeria's hunger index ranking was 103rd out of 123 countries surveyed in 2022/2023, and this figure had since worsened to 115th out of 123 countries surveyed in 2025/2026. Consequently, Nigeria is now classified among the world's most hungry or food-insecure nations in the world, with the World Bank forecasting that 33 million Nigerians could experience severe hunger.
In fact, Nigeria has the highest number of hungry people in the world.
I have always maintained that Nigeria have no reason to be seen among the hungriest nations in the world when we have fast, uncultivated land in the north, which is our greatest asset today.
We must transparently invest in Agricultural production, which will guarantee food security, but create huge employment.
A new Nigeria is POssible. -PO
A presidential term is 4 years, not 8.
If a president fails in the first 3 years, they shouldn't be re-elected. That you feel there are no alternatives, is not a reason to support a failure to remain in office.
Tinubu supporters who acknowledge he has failed, but believe the opposition won't do better, are not doing anything smart.
Your man is a failure, and you know it. You can decide not to vote. But to willingly vote for a failure to continue failing, is worse than the ignorant, delusional supporters who believe he is working.
Country so poor, you either make quick wealth and become a mega millionaire before 30, or you spend 30 years struggling to become a millionaire.
I hate this society we've dug ourselves into.
Sad: Our Children Are Now Pawns in a Deadly Ransom Economy
It’s heartbreaking to report yet another bandit attack on a school, barely three weeks after over 40 schoolchildren and their teachers were abducted and are still languishing in the forest.
The security situation in Kogi State has taken another tragic turn with a brutal bandit attack on Government Secondary School, Iluke, in Kabba-Bunu LGA. Armed bandits disguised in military uniforms invaded the school during an ongoing WAEC examination, killed the Vice Principal, Mr. Gani Anifowose, and attempted a mass abduction of students.
Reports from the scene indicate that local security personnel and vigilantes actively resisted the attackers and frustrated their abduction attempt.
Making educational institutions soft targets is a direct assault on the nation’s future. It creates a psychological barrier to school enrolment and worsens Nigeria’s out-of-school children crisis, disproportionately forcing young girls out of formal education due to fear. There is nothing more heartbreaking for a nation than being unable to protect its children.
My heartfelt condolences go to the family of the Vice Principal, who lost his life while gallantly defending the children entrusted to his care. May God grant his soul eternal repose.-PO
This is exactly why I laugh anytime someone blindly quotes those "fastest-growing religion" stats. They look at a chart or spreadsheet and pretend they’re measuring theological conviction, completely and pretentiously blind to the systemic violence keeping those numbers inflated.
Anytime they are losing arguments here on X, they run to those statistics as some grand proof of spiritual superiority, and try to find cheap consolation.
But what do those metrics really represent? Do they factor in the variable of raw terrorism? Do they account for the absolute, crushing impossibility of exit? Do they record the psychological toll of people who have to simulate faith every single day just to stay alive?
Of course NO. The spreadsheets are completely blind to the bloodshed.
I read this story and this man converted to Christianity, and the state didn’t just object, they sent him straight to a Terrorism Circuit Court. They tortured him, hanging him in a crucifixion position to force a renunciation. His entire "crime" was trying to legally update the religious designation on his national identity card.
When the bureaucratic and physical price of leaving a faith is a terrorism charge, a life sentence, or an outright execution, then you are no longer dealing with a demographic statistic. You are really dealing with a hostage count.
Stop using state terror to boast about popularity!
It’s 26 days since Borno kids were taken.
It’s 26 days since Borno kids were taken.
It’s 26 days since Borno kids were taken.
It’s 26 days since Borno kids were taken.
It’s 26 days since Borno kids were taken.
WHY ARE WE SILENT ABOUT THEM?
Borno State children don’t matter????
“For the 2027 election, it doesn’t matter if all 36 governors are with President Tinubu. I didn’t have a single governor in the last election, yet I won 12 states, even after they støle two states from me.”
— Peter Obi, during a recent interview in USA
"Let nobody tell you that insecurity cannot be dealt with.
The first thing I will do as president is to secure Nigeria.
It's only in Nigeria that kidnappers use mobile phones to ask for ransom, tell victims where to drop the ransom and yet police cannot trace them or do anything. We must stop that.
— Peter Obi
“I remember when Qatar won the bid to host the 2022 World Cup, everyone whined and got m&d. Now it’s in America. When we hosted the World Cup, there wasn’t a single crime reported. The World Cup in the United States hasn’t even started and we’re already hearing about shootings, people being denied entry and players being interrogated. They are professional footballers, what exactly are you interrogating?”
— Qatari man calls out America and FIFA.
This is Gospel Uabari. He was used to replace someone else in jail since 2003. His parents left this world without seeing him again. He was only a 14 years old boy! Nigeria! Nigeria!
“Under GEJ, there was only one kidnapping of school children by the terrorists, & the entire world was in protest against the govt. Under Buhari, in 8 yrs, there were 10 school abductions, & under 3 yrs of Tinubu govt, it has surpassed 10 & the world is keeping quiet”
—Peter Obi
If I wanted to maintain my current standard of living, but in Nigeria, it would cost too much to be realistic.
Nigerian prices are way too expensive in USD terms despite having such a devalued currency, and I don't understand how everyone is quiet.
That country is stupidly expensive for no reason at all🤷🏾
Clearly reminder that Deborah wasn’t carried to court before those Islamic fanatics carried out jungle justice on her.
“Shariah law is only for Muslims and not for non Muslims” 🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡
In 4days time, it will be one whole month of children being in the forest with kidnappers bruh.
A full moon of torture, hunger on sheer suffering. Their only offense was being poor Nigerians 💔💔
Nigerians have this terrible habit of pocket watching and sizing people.
It has become such a habit that they don't even realize when they're doing it.
The average Nigerian will size you up before according you any level of respect. From customer service staff at the bank to receptionists, waiters, waitresses, business owners, people at the gym, parties, clubs—you name it.
You could be talking to a Nigerian for the first time, and they'd be stylishly looking at the kind of phone you're using, the watch you're wearing, the car you drive, the wig you're wearing, your bag, and so on. The moment they perceive you to be rich, you can immediately notice the difference in how they talk to you and treat you.
And this is exactly why so many Nigerians live fake lives.
They call it packaging.
People have realized that looking rich often gets you more respect than actually being respectable. So everybody is trying to look like they're doing better than they really are.
This sizing culture is also why Nigerians pocket watch so much.
People are constantly calculating how much you make in a month, what you do for a living, how you can afford to travel all the time, where you got the money to buy your car, how you're able to live in a particular neighborhood, and so on.
They don't do this because they want to be inspired to go harder. Most times, it is simply pocket watching.
Someone said a few days ago that, "So a helicopter flight in Monaco is $150, and Sophia Egbueje made it look like $100,000."
Mind you, she didn't imply it. She didn't say anything about the cost. But because Nigerians are professional pocket watchers, they filled in the gaps themselves and ran with it.
They do this all the time.
And the craziest part about pocket watching is that once people have sized you up, mentally calculated how much you make, and concluded that you're rich, they automatically start thinking they're entitled to some of the money you make.
Such a ridiculous way to live life.
