I go back to this insightful statement by Elder Corbridge in April 2014 General Conference:

"Opposition, criticism, and antagonism are companions to the truth. Whenever the truth with regard to the purpose and destiny of man is revealed, there will always be a force to oppose it. Beginning with Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, down to the ministry of Christ, and on down to our day, there has always been and will ever be an effort to deceive, derail, oppose, and frustrate the plan of life.
Look for the biggest dust cloud billowing above the most dirt that is kicked at One who was most opposed, challenged, and rejected, beaten, abandoned, and crucified, One who descended below all things, and there you will find the truth, the Son of God, the Savior of all mankind. Why did they not leave Him alone?
Why? Because He is the truth, and the truth will always be opposed.
And then look for one who brought forth another testament of Jesus Christ and other scripture, look for one who was the instrument by which the fulness of the gospel and the Church of Jesus Christ were restored to the earth, look for him and expect to find the dirt flying. Why not leave him alone?

MORONI.

He never knew what it was like to live among a righteous people. He had to witness the collapse and destruction of his civilization, knowing they could have been spared had they just listened.

He lived so many years alone after having lost everyone he loved.

And yet, he bears a powerful testimony of Jesus Christ!

His testimony lets us know that no matter how terrible things may get, no matter how difficult our road may become-- ALL can be well with us because of the Atonement of Jesus Christ.

What a great gift he left to us through his teachings and testimony!!

It is not a coincidence that the Book of Mormon shares the stories of two once great nations-- both of which succumbed to wickedness and the power of the devil.

TWO civilizations. Both destroyed by their own choices.

The beauty of living in these last days is that we know for a SURETY that we will have something Moroni never had.

We have been PROMISED that there will be a righteous people here, ready to greet the Lord Jesus Christ upon His return.

Our ending could not be more different from his.

We will have a Zion people. A Zion society. We will be surrounded by believers, who are FILLED with faith in Jesus Christ, and FULL of love for God and neighbor.

A peaceful people, whom the power of God will be upon.

It has been gut-wrenching to watch the country we love so much collapsing right before our eyes at such a rapid pace. We are getting a small glimpse of what Ether and Moroni had to experience. But, unlike them, our future is bright!

As bright as our FAITH, according to President Monson.

While hard to watch, it is not unexpected.

We are walking a parallel path with the Book of Mormon, and fortunately for us, the writers gave us great details about the happenings of their day. We can clearly see the same things happening in our society today.

Moroni's last parting message to us, the people he saw, the people he wanted to help...

“And again I would exhort you that ye would come unto Christ, and lay hold upon every good gift, and touch not the evil gift, nor the unclean thing.

And awake, and arise from the dust, O Jerusalem; yea, and put on thy beautiful garments, O daughter of Zion; and strengthen thy stakes and enlarge thy borders forever, that thou mayest no more be confounded, that the COVENANTS of the Eternal Father which he hath made unto thee, O house of Israel, may be fulfilled.

Yea, come unto Christ, and be perfected in him, and deny yourselves of ALL ungodliness; and if ye shall deny yourselves of all ungodliness, and love God with all your might, mind and strength, then is his grace sufficient for you, that by his grace ye may be perfect in Christ;

and if by the grace of God ye are perfect in Christ, ye can in nowise deny the POWER of God.

And again, if ye by the grace of God are perfect in Christ, and deny not his power, then are ye sanctified in Christ by the grace of God, through the shedding of the blood of Christ, which is in the COVENANT of the Father unto the remission of your sins, that ye become HOLY, without spot.

And now I bid unto all, farewell. I soon go to rest in the paradise of God, until my spirit and body shall again reunite, and I am brought forth triumphant through the air, to meet you before the pleasing bar of the GREAT JEHOVAH, the Eternal Judge of both quick and dead.” (Moroni 10:30-34)

MORONI. I will be forever grateful to him for the incredible gift he left us!!

You’re going to receive a lot of different answers to that question!

I think it’s an eternally wise decision. It will change your life and your family’s lives in countless ways for the better!

You are going to read a ton of comments like that.
You will also receive a ton of comments in the negative.

The only answer that really matters is from God. The Holy Ghost will whisper peace to your soul and testify to you of the truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ as taught to you by the missionaries. The Spirit can even testify to you that what I’m saying is true. So my words do matter!
But you can find out FOR YOURSELF.
