In the early years of emergence, we often wintered outdoors. As a young kid, it was just normal stuff. We had done it for years. In winter three we were part of a combined recon, engineering, science, and EMCA camp. I was so excited that I had kids my age to work and play with.
In the early days of the project emergence phase, field kitchens used stored supplies, and some of the concoctions were "interesting".

It is my sad duty to report the passing of another great friend of The Morrow Project. Thomas Barns was a member of the St. Louis writing group that wrote sections of the 4th edition.
Tom will be greatly missed.
Cryotubes are a miracle of modern technology. The technology was originally intended for deep space exploration, it was adapted to serve the project. Key elements are said to have been brought back from the future. The voracity of these claims has never been proven though.

After the harvest is collected and put away, there is a natural pause in village life. Feasting starts the season of cooking, canning, and other methods of preserving food ramp up. The team is following this rhythm too.

Sentry reports they have one lone wagon with what appears to be a family group. No weapons are evident.
Later this poor family rolled up on us in the middle of our Halloween party. I'm quite sure the family thought they had taken a wrong turn into hell.
