Lohen has his parents AND Adorno as another father figure, and Varka obviously looks up to him in a way. The way Lohen operates within the KoF, the way Varka tolerates and lets him; that's not how a father sees his child.
Do people know that Lohen already has a dad? A loving family? That it's normal for Varka, who is (approximately) a 50 y.o man surrounded by younger adults, to address those adults as "kid" sometimes?
I'm 27 and call some 20y.o kids, doesn't mean that I wanna mother them 😭
This might make a few people angry, but despite everything my queerness comes after some other aspects of my life. I'm poc before I'm queer. I'm disabled before I'm queer. And I'll continue criticizing white queers who are racist and ableist, for as long as they continue to be so
Pride for me is just... There
I live in a religious, homophobic country. In a tiny town by the beach, not even the big city. We don't have pride parades, the only sexualities even acknowledged are gay and lesbian. We don't even have our own queer history, our own queer terms.

I don't want to call myself c!shet just because we don't have these terms. I don't want to feel any more oppressed than I already am, hiding myself further just because white queers don't want me to "steal from them"
People can ship whatever they want, but yeah, I can't see Varka ever entering a romantic relationship with a subordinate, especially one who's young enough to be his son. It goes aganist everything he stands for as a character.
