British Talent Cup Rider Report
Lucas Brown
Wow what a weekend where do I even start 🫣
Qualifying: p2 +0.190
I had a really good qualifying session I was on my own for almost the whole time I was slowly dropping my times until the last lap where I got caught up in traffic so I couldn’t make a final push for pole
Race1: p2 +0.046
I had a really good start in race 1 breaking away in a group of 5 at the front we battled hard all race long until me and another rider made contact up the straight causing me to roll off the throttle and drop down to 5th however I stayed with the group and with 5 laps to go 3 riders infront of me crashed leaving me with only 1 rider to battle with for the win I caught this rider back up and overtook on the last lap and lead out of the final corner unfortunately I got slipstreamed and passed to the line (partly because I forgot to move on the straight lesson learnt 🙄)
Race2: p4 +0.820
In race 2 I was starting from 2nd on the grid I got a good start and was battling for the lead in the first half until the red flag came out as I lead over the line it meant I started the restart from pole unfortunately it took me a while to get back into my rhythm on the restart and I slowly dropped to the back of the group once I got back into 4th I was waiting until the last lap to make a charge but onto the back straight I had a moment causing me to loose a little bit of time to the leading 3 which was not recoverable meaning I had to settle for 4th.
Race3: p1 -0.008
In race 3 I started from 3rd on the grid i had another good start and was in 2nd for the majority of the first half of the race I then got into the lead and got into my own rhythm and started to tick off laps in the lead as it came down to the last lap I held off the attacks from behind until the final corner where I was passed I got the cutback and held them off to the line taking my first victory in the @britishtalentcup
I have to say a big thank you to the team @richm.999 Keith and @victor_rodriguez_19 who have worked non stop all weekend to make sure my bike was the best I also have to thank my mum dad and all my sponsors for an amazing start to the year and I can’t forget my grandpa who made the trip down to support me.
