Pour Denis Mantourov, l’Occident a fini par devenir une explication très pratique.

Technologies perdues, usines parties, problèmes industriels : tout pouvait être rangé sous la même rubrique. Et pendant ce temps, les actifs laissés par les Européens trouvaient de nouveaux propriétaires.

Denis Manturov has made a career out of being useful to whatever line the Kremlin needs at the moment.

After 2022, blaming the West became part of the job - and a convenient way to explain industrial failures, redistribute abandoned assets and reward the right people.

When Moscow turns West again, Manturov may find that this time there is nowhere left to turn.
