What happened to global south solidarity? Senegal beating Iraq 5-0 at the World Cup like they were colonisers🤣🤪🙃And they could have put in a 6th before the closing whistle.
A victory in the African Championship automatically grants the GM title. Mathematically, that is still possible for Caleb Levi Levitan (🇿🇦 2295), the young South African talent who just turned 16. But to achieve it, he must win both remaining games, including today’s, with Black against the tournament leader and defending champion, GM Bilel Bellahcene (🇩🇿 2493).
Sad news from the US as France coach Didier Deschamps’ mother has passed away today.
Deschamps will now travel back to France to meet his family and say goodbye to his mom, Federation has confirmed.
He won’t be on the bench for France game against Norway.
Thoughts and prayers with Didier, his family, his mom. RIP. 🕊️

IM Andrew Kayonde (🇿🇲 2316) is a six-time Zambian Champion. He won his first national title in 2009 at the age of 21, then added four consecutive championships to his résumé in 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018.
Away from the board, Kayonde earned an MBA from Heriot-Watt University and has worked as a Business Analyst for Finance Bank, one of Zambia’s largest financial institutions.
A strong player, an accomplished professional, and, I should add, someone who knows exactly how to strike a great pose at the chessboard.
