@criccomini@bibryam I mean, it can definitely be cool (and I get it) to embed CDC directly into your service written in your preferred language (for slateDB?). If you're running on K8s, you could also consider using a sidecar container, but again it's the same to have a server...
@criccomini@bibryam Debezium already offers an embedded engine and a Quarkus extension: https://t.co/OiETBm74AE it's ready to be used in Quarkus applications and open to contributions. It can be compiled to native if performance is a key concern (Rust?).As for Java…I don't have a quick solution.
Today, I talked at Ticino Software Craft 🧑🔬. We discussed #Scala Effect Systems, both monadic and direct-style (in detail, the #YAES effect system).
It was a pleasure to join the Ticino software community.
Thanks, guys, for the opportunity 🙏

@zachly Nice article about CDC. What is your opinion about Debezium? Is there any reason why you don't mention it? It can offer the pros of database triggers and change streams. Furthermore is available in Kafka connect or Debezium server
Actually, tests find bugs. Sure on occasion a code review might find a bug but it’s not deterministic, a test is deterministic. Sure you can write shit tests. But if you write good ones they will be deterministic.

@pxue Talking about product development: are really necessary all the feature mentioned? Probably, t don't have any user and in a first phase, in order to deliver value, they can share access only to a set of interest users. Or they can deliver the login without forgot/change password
