HB 837 was signed into law today. Amongst other provisions, it makes it harder to go after your insurance company if they deny your claim. This will make it harder for Floridians and small businesses to ensure they get the insurance coverage they paid for, and gives insurance companies incentive to sit on claims rather than pay them.

DeSantis just lost my vote by signing in HB 837. I'm very disappointed in him and the legislature that passed the bill that screws over Floridians. Each of them should be personally liable for when Floridians have no recourse this next hurricane season.

@GovRonDeSantis had me until I realized he's in the pockets of Big Insurance. The Florida tort reform law he is pushing is a joke. He's taking away all incentive for insurance companies to be fair with our people. Best of luck this hurricane season Floridians! We are screwed!
