Ryo Hirakawa, a Toyota factory driver in the World Endurance Championship, paid this year’s constructors’ champions $3.5m (£2.6m) to take part in FP1 at the 2024 Abu Dhabi GP, which included two ‘Testing of Previous Cars’ (TPC) events in older machinery to prepare.

The figures were revealed in court papers at the McLaren vs Alex Palou case.

GT class requiring a bronze kills it. I know they are funding the teams mostly, but it spreads the field out so much, no one is really interested in watching them and the winner is who’s bronze is the least slow. A pinnacle series should be pro only. ELMS should be mixed ability

This is easily one of the worst 24 hours of Le Mans I've watched. No drama, BoP so screwed Ferrari has tried to lose this race about 10 different times but cannot, little GT battling.
