For the past month, my student has stood in the hallway and said Good Morning to every Third Grader.

For the past two days, a friend has joined him.

I didn’t assign them to this job - they just wanted to bring joy to other students in the morning.

One of my biggest regrets from college is not taking a class with Nikki Giovanni.

I attended an event once where she sat a few rows ahead of me. Her presents and energy could be felt from a distance. I was speechless being near someone so incredible.
