I was pleased to attend a “Keeping Children Safe Online” presentation for some of our parents in Moss Side. It’s so important that parents understand the risks children can face when accessing the internet without appropriate safeguards and guidance in place.
Many thanks to Peace Path Communities and Najma for organising this important event.

Today, the people of Moss Side have spoken and elected a Green Councillor.
I am deeply sorry that our excellent colleague, @ErinmaBell lost her seat.
Erinma has been a true champion for Moss Side dedicating more than 35 years to the community, both as an activist and for the last four years as a Councillor. Her commitment, passion, and service to the area will be greatly missed.
While elections bring change, I and @Esha4MossSide’s commitment to the people of Moss Side remains the same.
We look forward to continuing to work together across the community for the betterment of Moss Side and all who call it home.

Great to have been out across Manchester over the past few weeks with our hardworking @McrLabour teams – from Longsight to Levenshulme, Burnage to Moss Side, Fallowfield to Rusholme – speaking to residents, listening to concerns, and sharing what the Council is delivering in our communities.
Proud of the tireless work our fab local councillors led by @bevcraig do making real change for our residents across the city including:
🧹 Cleaner streets
🏡 Better housing
🌳 Greener neighbourhoods
🚓 Safer communities
🚌 Improved local transport
💼 Supporting local jobs
So many great conversations on the doorstep as always. People care deeply about their communities, and it really shows. There’s more to do, but the progress is clear.
If you value it, you got to vote for it. If you want to keep moving Manchester forward, don’t forget to vote Labour tomorrow 🐝 🗳️🌹
Great to be joined by the Mayor of Greater Manchester @AndyBurnhamGM, MP Afzal Khan, local Councillors and hardworking volunteers, supporting our local candidate @ErinmaBell’s re-election campaign in Moss Side. 🌹
#VoteLabour on 7th May to re-elect Erinma! 🗳️❤️
Lovely !
We also had the opportunity to take a group to a “Not Guilty by Association” event, supporting a powerful community-led initiative and helping others learn more about joint enterprise. It was a meaningful experience with lots of reflection and learning.
Great work !
Been some amazing door knocking happening in the Moss Side ward, ensuring we get @ErinmaBell re-elected for the Moss Side in the May elections. @McrLabour@Esha4MossSide@MahdiTaarwale and team ! It’s been a great experience, I have enjoyed speaking to residents in the area. 👏🏾
Your @MossSideLabour team was out on the doors again speaking with residents. As always, there was a great support on the doorstep, with some residents sharing their appreciation for the Councillors’ advocacy and the funding being brought into Moss Side. 🐝❤️

Eid in the Park is not taking place this week due to concerns for the environment at Platt Fields. It has NOT been cancelled due to pressure from the far right but will be back this May!
This week, I had the privilege of organising a community Iftar at school, alongside an incredible group of staff and students. The event was led by our students, who confidently hosted and shared their experiences, a great turn out and that sense of belonging! Soo proud. ❤️
✨ Happy International Women’s Day! ✨
Well done to Councillor @ErinmaBell for hosting and chairing a powerful panel of inspirational women from across the city, who shared their stories, struggles, and achievements, including our very own Moss Side stars @KennyUmeh and Najma💛
Our first £1billion budget starts to build back what we lost to austerity, investing in the services you told us are most important to you.

Today @McrLabour passed our budget to make Manchester even better.
More cash for support, cost of living, parks, cleaning the streets, cctv to catch flytippers, high streets, free swimming and gym, cash for community groups and much more.
