A 17-year-old Black student, Darryl George, was repeatedly disciplined and suspended at Barbers Hill ISD in Texas, all for wearing his locs. The school claimed it violated their dress code.
After a nearly two-year legal battle, on July 24, 2025, a federal judge ruled in favor of the district, permanently dismissing the case and preventing Darryl from refiling.

I lent my older cousin a HUGE chunk of my savings last year. We had an agreement, a deadline, everything. Months after he was supposed to pay me back, nothing. Just excuses and ghosting. So I told him, look, if you don't pay up, I'm going to have to consider legal action.
