The University of the Western Cape has concluded it's programme of conferring honourary doctorates of Philosophy at Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens in Cape town on Friday night.

Four of seven recipients were capped in person:

Senior Advocate Adila Hassim – An evidence leader at the Madlanga Commission, co‑founder of SECTION27, and a leading voice for constitutional rights and access to healthcare

Mary Robinson – A global champion for equality, human dignity, and climate justice

Doctor Naledi Mandisa Pandor – Respected voice on global governance, peace, human rights and shaping South Africa’s international relations

Professor Emeritus Loyiso Nongxa – Distinguished mathematician and higher education leader, championing transformation and excellence in science education.
