The RPG Maker Unite .unitypackage takes so long to import that I've started and finished The Princess Bride in the time it's taken to import (it's still going)
The problem with the RPG Maker community is that it really isn't a "game dev" community. It's more of a "gaming" community along with a lot of problems that entails
So you end up dealing with hyperbole, bias and inflated egos from people who don't know what they're talking about
One thing I've learned over the course of Second Dreamer's development is to just not engage with the RPG Maker community as much as I can get away with.
Like stay far far far away from it. There's really nothing to be gained here and an outside (read: basically any other game dev community) perspective will give you a way better understanding of how to go about things.
All the fancy renderer features are working now!
Pretty wild having things like proper DOF, bloom and other stuff working in RM.
#gamedev | #indiedev | #rpgmaker | #pixelart
Due to the amount of models that need to be made for the Second Dreamer project I'm experimenting with voxel based modelling software in places I think it won't detract from aesthetic.
This sign for example.
@HawkZombie @SigmaSuccour Them avoiding what should be an easy yes or no question is several levels beyond yabai.
Like the only reason to avoid answering it is a vain attempt to save face which is not a good look at all.
Current issues with Steam Deck builds as of right now.
- Second Dreamer was built for 16:9 so we have bars.
- Graphics need to be reformatted to work with 16:10.
- Performance leaves a lot to be desired. It's not good right now.
- Why didn't I build this game on Unity?
