Oh my goodness, I ❤️ this SO much! I must remember this the next time someone tells me I look “Well” or “Healthy”...this is a MUCH better way to look at it than where my stupid #ED brain goes usually! #goals#EDRecovery#eatingdisorder
@criminographer I am so, so sorry 💔 this is unbelievable and unfair and I am sending you and your family so much love and strength. Thinking of you xxx
Discharged from #eatingdisorder service yesterday after nearly 7 years! So many mixed emotions. Mostly feeling so grateful to have had such long term NHS support from wonderful people.
It feels a little scary, but also, what I wasn’t expecting, is that I kinda feel free :)

Whatever the outcome of the World Cup final, Sarina Wiegman has once again shown us all what great leadership looks like.
@pigletish Which adults?! I can’t do all of these things at once…I don’t think many people can - unless they are rich enough to pay someone else to manage some of them!?x
In my sister’s school children have been asked to bring in a snack that contains less than 100 calories to promote health & wellbeing. These kids are 8 years old! How is this ok?! @scotgovhealth#eatingdisorderawareness
@CaraLisette We use Wuka too! Got some emergency cheaper ones off Amazon when we were away and they were rubbish and leaked through. Wuka are more expensive but really good-never had leaks.
Can’t believe I didn’t discover them sooner-only when me daughter got her period quite young recently!
@HopeVirgo When that psychology left and I saw someone else, we discussed my reasons for not wanting to know my weight & since then I have always been blind weighed 🙂
@HopeVirgo Within the same service I’ve had different people take different stances on this. One psychologist was really insistent I should know my weight and not avoid it: she also thought it was another ED control thing to want to not know?!-I genuinely don’t believe this now still.
The cultural push of mothers into the work force and the glorification of "working moms" made the role of parenting almost trivial. Parenting and upbringing has the greatest impact on who someone becomes. Supporting parents to understand attachment theory, coping skills, and emotional intelligence is the focus in a healthy society.
People saying “NHS staff knew the pay when they took the job, if they don’t like it they should leave” have no plan for what to do when that actually happens. Spoilers: it’s already started
For those who don't fully understand what is up with the NHS, here is a thread for you that might help.
I'm a consultant physician working as a doctor in the NHS in Yorkshire and Wales for 32 years now. I have experienced the NHS at its best (2008) and its worst (2022).
