@devchart Removing Iran’s ability to provide preferential passage to its allies will increase pressure on those same allies to leverage Iran to negotiate with the US. It’s an all or nothing position. Seems pretty based to me.
@FurkanGozukara These ancient planes, which entered service in March 1976, are great for ripping up defenseless Iraqi convoys but will be extremely vulnerable to Iranian attack and of limited utility in the Gulf.
Tell me you don’t understand reserve requirements or refining requirements without telling me you don’t understand reserve requirements or refining requirements.
We are being led by snake oil salesmen...
A strategic oil reserve isn't sitting in a tank. It's stored in vast underground caverns - often hollowed out salt formations. It's basically a fast well.
Canada doesn't have one because we have, well, wells.
The IEA puts on countries an obligation to hold 90 days of imports in reserve. That is why the rest of the G7 has reserves - unlike them, we are a net exporter. We produce far more than we consume.
In the context of our market and the current disruptions brought on by the war in Iran, Canada will "do its part" by optimizing that production and those exports.
Andrew, I know you know this. Let's not engage in this "WhY dON't tHeY mAKe THe WhOLe PLaNE oUt Of tHE bLaCK bOX" fake incredulity.
@coreyhoganyyc Imagine gaslighting Canadians' concerns and failing to grasp the ethical failure of switching parties after an election without consulting your constituents via a by-election.
@RNR_0@kindoblue Imagine bureaucrats being pragmatic, willing to do hard work and solve problems without relying exclusively on taxation while scapegoating their base to consolidate their own retirement wealth.
