Join us in welcoing B-flat Bassist Brandon Thibault to Motor City Brass Band. Brandon is a highly accomplished tubist and educator from Taylor, Michigan. He received a Bachelor of Music from Oakland University and Master of Music from Bowling Gtreen State University.

Nine members of MCBB will perform in "HYMNS TRIUMPHANT: Great and Glorious Hymns of the Church" this Sunday at 4pm, at Cherry Hill Presbyterian (24110 Cherry Hill Rd, Dearborn).
We'll accompany a choir of 50 singers, with conductor Charles Miller and organist Dr. David Wagner.

Happy 4th of July! An octet from MCBB performed at 4th of July celebration at Arden Courts of Bingham Farms on Sunday to an appreciative audience of residents, guests, and staff. This is the first of several senior community centers and residences that MCBB will visit.
MCBB's season-end concert at Sylvan Lake last week begins a 6-week break before preparing the '23-24 season. MCBB musicians remain active during the break, teaching at camps, performing with other groups and touring (e.g. Bona Opatich with Waitakere Brass Band in New Zealand).
Summer break story, part 2: 12 members of MCBB joined many fine musicians for two brass band reading sessions this week. Monday night was "Fraternity" by Thierry Deleruyelle, conducted by Chris Ward. Wednesday was "The Holy War" by Ray Steadman-Allen, conducted by Gordon Ward.
Sylvan Lake is hosting an evening of food & music at the Community Center on Thursday, June 22 with MCBB as entertainment.

MEET THE BAND: John Andersen, Baritone
John has a degree in Music Education and Euphonium performance from Oakland University and teaches elementary music in Utica Community Schools.
He joined MCABB in 2021 and is now principal Baritone in MCBB.

MCBB received its trophy from the 2023 Detroit Music Awards. This marks 5 out of 6 years that MCBB has won in the category of Outstanding Small Classical Ensemble.
