So what I do is setting up things like soothe2, Inifinity Bass, iZotope RX things, setting up all the sidechains, and prepare my mix for console like workflow. Surely with editing already done.

And then I can focus purely on basic tools, achieving the desired sound.

I like to keep my mixing as simple as possible, like I'm mixing on a console and I have mic pre (saturation), EQ, compressor, level and pan.

But I can't neglect the necessity of sidechains and use of some more complicated tools...
