It was a deliberate post-Void Century sanctuary where survivors of the Ancient Kingdom preserved the auditory Poneglyphs—turning hidden history into songs, instruments, and music-as-weapon techniques so the truth could survive erasure. Imu personally erased Esperia because they held the final audible key to reuniting the seas. The multiple personalities of Princess Gunko reflect this fracture: one still carries suppressed Esperia knowledge, while the demonic one is Imu’s influence trying to silence or weaponize it.

This is supported by Imu’s lines about Joyboy in this last chapter, which reveals deep personal familiarity and respect for Joy Boy’s unbreakable strength, rather than the words of someone who casually defeated him. It aligns with the Chapter 1181 flashback showing Imu and Joy Boy once laughing together as they debated peace and ideals ''freedom vs. dominance'', hinting at a tragic former bond that makes a simple “Imu kills Joy Boy” outcome feel too straightforward.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​
