The CBAS Day of Scientific Renaissance of Africa Celebrations 2026 also provided an opportunity to engage participants on infectious diseases and antimicrobial resistance.
Our AMR team demonstrated Gram staining and explained its practical applications, while the Cancer and Virology Lab shared information on coronavirus transmission and prevention, showcased electron microscope images of the virus, and engaged visitors with COVID-19 themed word puzzles.
@WACCBIP_UG joins the CBAS Day of Scientific Renaissance of Africa Celebrations 2026 at Atomic Park with interactive exhibits designed to promote science awareness and learning.
Community members and students explored the kombucha production cycle and its benefits, learned about DNA through a 3D model presentation by the Molecular Biology Lab, and conducted Hepatitis B and malaria testing.
Today, we welcome Grade 6 students and teachers from the International Community School (ICS) to WACCBIP for an educational visit exploring the world of scientific research.
The visit begins with a welcome and introduction to WACCBIP by Dr Yaw Aniweh and Kyerewaa Boateng, followed by an engaging biosafety session led by Mona-Liza Sakyi. Through these interactions, students gain insight into what we do at WACCBIP and the dos and don'ts in our labs.
